Who these terms cover
These Terms of Use apply to the PressSpeak Mac app and the PressSpeak website. PressSpeak is provided by HeyYou, Inc. By downloading or using PressSpeak, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use PressSpeak.
Trial and app license
PressSpeak is distributed as a Developer ID signed and notarized Mac application. The direct-download edition includes one seven-day trial on a Mac with no payment method required. The trial does not renew or charge you. After a completed purchase, HeyYou, Inc. grants you a personal, nontransferable license to use the direct-download edition on Macs you own or control. These terms do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
Purchase and activation
Stripe processes the optional one-time payment and sends the receipt. PressSpeak attaches a random installation identifier to checkout and uses it to confirm a successful payment when you return to the app. The purchase does not start a subscription or recurring charge.
If your payment was mistaken or you cannot activate or use the app, contact hello@getpressspeak.com. Refund rights provided by applicable law remain in effect.
Earlier App Store purchases
If you bought Core Lifetime through Apple, that purchase remains associated with your Apple Account and the earlier App Store edition. Apple continues to handle payment information and refund requests under its policies.
Transcription accuracy and responsibility
Speech recognition can misunderstand words, names, punctuation, or meaning. You are responsible for reviewing text before sending, publishing, or relying on it. Do not use PressSpeak as the sole source for emergency instructions or medical, legal, financial, or other safety-critical decisions.
You remain responsible for your recordings, dictated content, and resulting text, including having any permission needed to record or process another person’s speech.
Acceptable use
Use PressSpeak lawfully and respect the privacy, intellectual-property rights, and other rights of others. Do not use it to break the law, interfere with the app, or distribute a modified or unauthorized copy except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise.
Availability and warranties
PressSpeak depends on compatible Apple-Silicon Mac hardware, supported macOS versions, Microphone access, shortcut availability, and a destination that accepts normal clipboard text. Updates to macOS or other apps can affect compatibility.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PressSpeak is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a promise that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate. Nothing here excludes non-waivable consumer rights.
Privacy
PressSpeak processes dictation locally and does not operate an app account, transcription backend, analytics service, or transcript history. Stripe processes purchase information separately. Details are in the Privacy Policy and Privacy Choices.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms for future use of PressSpeak. The effective date above will change when the terms change. Updates apply prospectively and do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
