Audio and transcription
Microphone audio is recorded only while the visible Listening indicator is active. Audio is processed locally using the model included with PressSpeak and deleted after transcription. PressSpeak does not send audio to us or retain it as history.
Transcripts and clipboard
PressSpeak briefly places completed dictation on the clipboard, sends one paste action to the app you were using, and then restores the previous clipboard when possible. If insertion is blocked, the transcript remains available for you to paste. PressSpeak does not retain transcript history or sync transcripts.
Trial and purchases
The app stores the trial start date and a random installation identifier in your Mac’s Keychain. When you choose to buy, that random identifier is attached to Stripe checkout. After payment, our licensing service stores the identifier with the successful purchase status so the app can unlock lifetime access. The identifier contains no dictation, name, email address, hardware serial number, or advertising ID.
Stripe processes checkout, payment, and receipt delivery. Stripe receives the email and billing or payment information you provide. We can view the purchase email, amount, payment status, and limited payment details in Stripe so we can provide support, prevent fraud, and handle refunds. PressSpeak does not receive or store your full card number.
Permissions
Microphone access is used only while the Listening indicator is visible. Accessibility is used to recognize the global shortcut, cancel with Escape, and send the single paste action that inserts completed text. PressSpeak does not request Input Monitoring.
